WHO WE ARE

INKA STORE was created, by a French – Peruvian couple, with the desire to promote Peruvian crafts and participate in improving the quality of life of artisans and families dedicated to craftsmanship.

  • MARTHA DIAZ, graduated from University of San Ignacio de Loyola (Peru) in Hospitality Management, founder and manager of INKA STORE.

  • PIERRE CHRISTIAN, graduated from University ISL (France) in International Business, founder and partner of INKA STORE.

Our philosophy is to promote fair trade with ethical criteria for all, where our talented and creative artisans are the main characters.

OUR ARTISANS

INKA STORE and its artisans work together in order to show and promote around the world the Peruvian craft and typical products.

In most cases, our craftsmen are engaged with handicraft and it represents their main source of income.

 Our artisans

Our craftsmen come from different towns in Peru. We have thus, from the Peruvian Coast, potters from Chulucanas (Piura), who continue using ancient techniques such as the "Negative" and "Paleteo" to make one of the most beautiful decorative and utilitarian ceramics from the north of our country. Our skillful weavers of reed and rush fiber, from the south of Lima and Ica, can make beautiful baskets, bags, purses, hats and more. From the Peruvian Andes (Highlands), our artisans from Ayacucho are mainly dedicated to pottery, they use clay as their main material to give shape and strength of expression to their pieces; most of their works are related to religious themes. We must also mention the beautiful and fine embroideries from Ayacucho textiles, which are handmade in sheep wool. From Cuzco (the Capital of the Inca Empire), we have our talented painters, authors of wonderful and fine oil paintings representative of the “Escuela Cuzqueña de Pintura” (Painting School from Cuzco). We, also, have our artisans from Chincheros (Cuzco), who make beautiful textiles by using the alpaca, vicuna and llama wool, pedal looms, and natural dyes. As our textiles artisans from Puno do, who make warm and beautiful blankets, ponchos, sweaters, chullos, clothing, balls of wool, etc. From the Peruvian Jungle, we must stand out the work of our artisans from the Shipibo-Conibo native communities, who make exotic and mysterious decorative ceramics, textiles and jewelry.

Also, INKA STORE supports the work of new and independent artists and designers who are looking to stand out in the competitive world of fashion and art. We want to show people from around the world their innovative products, all made in Peru by Peruvian artists.
